Interbike 2005

Century Cycles Beats the Odds in Las Vegas!

Each fall, the bicycle industry meets in Las Vegas, Nevada for its largest trade show and exposition, known as Interbike.  As an independent bicycle dealer, we get the opportunity to meet with manufacturers and distributors from every corner of the world to learn about the latest and greatest products that we will be offering you, our customers, in the coming year.

This year's show was held on September 26-30.  In addition to the new product displays, the CC staff attended a number of technical seminars held by companies such as Shimano, SRAM, and Hayes.  The event was a productive and educational success for everyone, which will help us continue to provide our customers with the quality service they have come to expect.

In keeping with the spirit of Vegas, several of the CC staff came away big winners!  Ken from the Rocky River store won a drawing held by Kryptonite.  As a result, the store will soon host a visit from Bob Roll.  You may know Bob Roll as one of the commentators for the Outdoor Life Network's coverage of the Tour de France.  Bob is a former pro cyclist, and also the author of several cycling-related books.  Great job, Ken!  Stayed tuned as more details of this exciting event become available!

Another lucky winner was Kevin from the Solon store, who won a raffle held by SRAM for a Cannondale Prophet mountain bike!  In his usual understated fashion, Kevin told SRAM Product Manager Greg Herbold that he was "pretty excited" about winning the bike.  Congratulations, Kevin!

Rumor has it that one CC staffer was particularly skilled at the poker table, and another hit it big at the slot machines.  We'll leave those tales in the "what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas" category!
