BRAIN: Century Cycles turns 20, opens expanded location

November 1, 2012

MEDINA, OH--Century Cycles marked its 20th anniversary in late September with the opening of a new flagship store a few doors away from the retailer's original location in Medina, Ohio. The larger, more state-of-the-art store, at 1059 North Court, is more than double the size of the former location, with 8,500 square feet. Century Cycles also has two other locatinos in nearby Peninsula and Rocky River, Ohio. "We are thrilled to be expanding our long tradition in Medina," said Century Cycles owner Scott Cowan. "We are grateful for Medina's support for the past 20 years, and we are excited to have a bigger, better, state-of-the-art bicycle store to continue serving Medina and Northeast Ohio's bicycle needs for the next 20 years." The grand opening followed close on recognition for Cowan's advocacy work. At September's Interbike show, he won a Build More Than Bikes Challenge honor and $1,000 prize from Bikes Belong for starting a bike-to-school challenge at his alma mater, Bay High School. The program, introduced in 2008, now reaches more than 4,000 students at five northeast Ohio schools.
