Our Latest Update Regarding the Coronavirus
Please be aware that current events are changing rapidly. We will make every effort to update this page in a timely manner. Last updated August 26, 2021.
State of Ohio officials issued a "Stay At Home" order effective at 11:59pm on Monday, March 23, 2020 to help address the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. In the text of the order (you can read it here), bicycle shops were listed as "essential services" and were permitted to remain open to the public for business.
We appreciate that the state has recognized the importance that bicycling plays in our transportation system. Whether you ride for transportation or for the benefit of your physical and mental health, we are proud to continue serving our customers. However, there is no "business as usual" for anybody during this time, including us.
We are continuing the safety measures put in place already, and are making additional changes to help ensure the health of our staff, customers, and the community. Please continue reading below for details. Also note that as conditions are rapidly changing, our response and policies may also change.
We wish to thank our customers for your support during this difficult time. We also thank our staff for their dedication and diligence.
Per the guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention:
- Masks are NOT required.
- Masks or face coverings are RECOMMENDED when indoors for customers and staff, regardless of vaccination status.
Please respect others' choices.
Policies at all three of our stores
We have reduced our store hours. Our hours of operation at all three stores are:
- Monday through Saturday: 10:00am - 6:00pm
- Sunday: 12:00 - 5:00pm
Per state and local orders, masks or face coverings are required by all customers and staff inside our stores.
While we are still OPEN, during especially busy periods we may keep our entrance door LOCKED to better manage traffic and maintain physical distance. Please knock firmly, then step back 6 feet from the door, and we'll come and address your needs as soon as possible. Please be patient if we ask that you wait until other customers exit before you enter the store.
We can arrange "touch-free" drop-offs and pickups of bicycles and merchandise. Just call us when you reach the store.
Please visit us to address any specific bicycling needs you have, and try to keep "just browsing" to a minimum in order to minimize person-to-person contact, as well as contact with other merchandise. Feel free to call us in advance to discuss your needs, check stock, and ask for our recommendations. Browse at home right here on this website!
Please practice "social distancing" while in the store and leave 6 feet of space between yourself and our staff and other customers.
While a full tune-up is usually our recommendation to get the best performance out of your bicycle, we will do our best to look it over and make any quick adjustments on the spot to get you rolling immediately, rather than having to drop off and come back at a later date, if possible.
We are using sanitizing cleaner on all new and serviced bicycles just prior to pickup. We are washing and/or sanitizing our own hands frequently, as well as cleaning all counters, payment terminals, door handles, restrooms, and other common surfaces.
As always, our web store is open 24/7 for shipping to you or free in-store/curbside pickup. Please be patient and allow us extra time to process your orders. Browse our online catalog. Please note that our online catalog contains both in-stock and special order items.
Many of our suppliers have given us more flexibility to ship bicycles and other products to you, including direct from our distributors in some cases. There are too many to list here, but if you've got some special need and don't see how to handle it on our web site, please CALL US and we're happy to investigate and make special shipping arrangements.
Our staff is required to stay home if they do not feel well. Some of our administrative staff has been working from home on a limited basis, and this will expand as needed.
See our Tune-Ups page for information on scheduling a tune-up or other service for your bike.
Our store is large enough that we are able to maintain social distancing while leaving our entrance door unlocked most days, but be aware that we may return to keeping it locked during business hours on busier days.
We ask that you wait outside the store while any while-you-wait repair work is performed.
Please do not park blocking the driveway between the store and the railroad tracks. Pull into the parking lot beyond the far end of the store.
We have resumed bike rentals as of May 22, 2020. We have resumed renting child trailers as of August 26, 2020. Please see our Towpath Trail Bicycle Rental page for details.
