I am writing this email to thank you for your GREAT customer service

I traveled [to Shaker Heights] from the Pittsburgh area to buy my grandson a Giant Escape 3 bicycle from you on March 20, 2021. Unfortunately, the brakes squealed very loud every time the brakes were applied. I tried everything to eliminate the noise, but nothing worked. I eventually called you for help. After reviewing my unsuccessfully attempts to fix the problem, you agreed to send me all new brakes components for the front and rear brakes. I recently got around to installing the new brake parts and the problem is fixed.

Thanks again for all your help. It is sincerely appreciated.

To the Manager of Century [Cycles],

Just a note to say thank you for the great customer service I received on my last visit.

I have been an on and off customer since 2002 when I first took my bike for a service. Living part of the time in Europe and a smaller part in Rocky River, has meant that I have not visited the shop as often as I used to since 2007.

On this past occasion, June 25, 2021, I took a light which had stopped working not long after I bought it. I made the mistake of thinking that I had bought it the year before, but in fact I had bought it in 2018. Joshua, spotted this, but he went ahead and exchanged the light for me anyway.

I just like to let you know that this is what motivates people to keep returning to a place that has your back, instead of favouring the seemingly economical option of shopping online.

I am sorry I have not been able to return as frequently as I would like. My bicycles, all seven of them, have been moved to Belgium, where I spend most of the time, and it is very bike friendly. But be rest assured that I will continue visiting your shop and even holding on purchasing items for when I return to Rocky River, in order to support your business and benefit from your great customer support.

I hope you have a successful end of the year season.

Kindest regards,

Jorge Vivar

Hello,

I had the pleasure of meeting the team at Rocky River branch this morning. My bike broke a spoke yesterday. It was also ghost shifting.

Taylor fixed my bike right away within minutes.

But the noteworthy thing is that when I told him I was looking for new tires, he showed me how to determine if the tires are worn out. It turned out they are not. He advised not to replace them this time.

Now, that's honesty. He could have just sold me new tires and made some bucks.

You guys just got a new lifetime customer.

Thanks.

Oliver

I stopped in yesterday to have my tires fixed. The staff was very kind and helpful. The lady behind the counter helped...

To the staff of Century Cycles in Medina, OH (Bob, Cathy, Chris, et al),

My solo, unsupported road bike ride from Florence, Oregon, to Portland Maine (Aug. 26 - Sept. 29) was made so much better by a stop at the Century Cycles shop in Medina on Sept. 21, day 27 of my 35-day traverse of the country.

I called the shop on the evening of Sept. 20, explained my situation, and was invited to stop by the following day. At that point I had been traveling for 26 days with one day-off due to an early snowstorm in Kimball, Nebraska. I was averaging 106 miles per riding day and, with that one exception, enjoying good health, good weather and (mostly) tailwinds.

Appearing at the door of the Medina shop at opening time, it seemed that I was moved to the front of the line for maintenance. With about 3,000 miles on my bike's drive train components, I felt a new cassette and chain might be in order. The crew at C.C. did those things and much more; trued the wheels, discovered and straightened a bent, rear derailleur hanger and demonstrated the risks of riding several hundred miles on a patched tube (it popped upon re-inflation!).

During the 90 minutes I spent at the C.C. "oasis" I enjoyed good company, conversation and coffee. Those who have done long solo bicycle rides appreciate the power of spending time among fellow cyclists along the way. Such brief reprieves from the stress and loneliness of the road, in an atmosphere of camaraderie and support, can be wonderfully encouraging and relaxing. With the bike working perfectly, and with my psychological batteries recharged, I completed the final 8 days of the ride in Portland on September 29.

I will be forever grateful for the help and support offered by the Century Cycles staff in Medina.
Best wishes to you all.

I brought my fat bike in for a tune up last week and was very impressed with the customer service. Josh was great at explaining the services, making suggestions on replacing older/worn parts that would improve the performance of the bike. The thing rides Great!

My family decided to head out to Peninsula with our three old bicycles, stop by Century Cycles to rent a fourth bike and hit the tow path trail for a bike ride. Afterwards, I mentioned to my wife how much I loved the rental bike. She stated they had several bikes available for sale inside. I figured I would take a look. Alice (sales associate) was the one who rented us the bike in the first place. Alice took care of us and was patient with all of our questions. Needless to say, I left the store with the purchase of three new bikes!!! Alice was very knowledgeable and has great customer service skills. This store left a great first impression for my family and will be highly recommended for anyone with any bicycle needs!!! Thank you Alice.

I have enjoyed shopping at your Rocky River store the past 4+ years, having gotten 4 bikes and several accessories, apparel, and good advice on my purchases from Krista, Ray, Josh, Ken, Adam, and Matt, all of whom are who I usually see in the store.

I decided to get a professional bike fit for the Giant Contend SL 2 that I bought last July; just had it done March 12 and was very impressed! I did not realize the extent to which [you] work to get a person fitted properly to their bike and am really glad I did this. [Your] experience really shows and [your] ability to relate to customers and explain the why of what changes [you] make is outstanding!

I will be going for my first metric century at the Bike MS ride in August as part of Team Left Hand and am looking forward to getting out on the road as soon as the weather breaks.

Thanks for having such great products in your stores, but more importantly, great people!

Sincerely,

Joe

I've been to several bike shops over the years, and this was the first time I've had a great experience. I was helped over the phone initially, and was given advice to help me try and fix a tire myself, which I thought was very nice that they took the time to explain things to me so I wouldn't have to bring it in. When I ended up coming in to have them take a look at it, my tire was fixed and I was out the door in 10 minutes. Great service, nice people, and I will probably never go to another bike shop as long as they are around.

I was delighted with the work Rich at Century Cycles did on my bike. About a year ago, he worked on the shifting and it performs better than when it was new. Today, he put new handlebar tape and added new brake levers to the bike - and it looks and performs great. I highly recommend their services for anyone who has bike issues. Thanks Rich!

Fantastic service. They're willing to help regardless of if you bought your bike from them or not. My wife bought her bike there and I bought mine somewhere else, but they help us both whenever we go up there to buy something or go for service.

Century Cycles is the only place I trust to service my bike. The men working in the store are incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and dedicated to educating their customers. I brought my recently purchased Giant in (not purchased at Century) for a tuneup because it was apparent my bike components had some issues and wasn't put together properly at the original store. The men at Century took care of my bike and I was ready to ride within the week. Thank you guys!

Just a note to commend Josh at your Rocky River location. I had two bicycles serviced by Josh - one just tuned up and the other repaired. Both were completed much faster than expected, and at much less expense than I anticipated. I received phone calls from Josh to update me on expected arrival dates of needed parts for repairs, as well as expected completion date. I am employed in the service industry, and rarely do I encounter customer service that rivals what I strive to provide to my customers. Josh exceeded all expectations and is a valuable asset to your company. As a result of dealing with Josh, you have gained a lifelong customer. Please thank him for me.

To Whom It May Concern:

A few weeks ago, I scheduled a bike fitting with Tom Wiseman at the Medina Century Cycles. I was thouroughly impressed with Tom's level of customer service, knowledge, and patience. He is an asset to your establishment and a reason I will continue to recommend Century Cycles to my friends and colleagues. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for your time.

I wanted to drop a note to let you know of the great service we always get at your Rocky River store. We are a family of recreational bike riders that enjoy riding our bikes all over the Cleveland / North East Ohio area several times a week - except during the winter. Each time we've brought our bikes in for service (from fixing tires to fixing / replacing bent rims), the staff has always been really great to deal with. Most of the time they make minor repairs right there for us while we wait - even when the store is busy. The past few times we've been in, one of your service people [Adam] has helped us - and he's been great. Thanks again for the great service ... it will keep us coming back.

For my friends at Rocky River,

I, along with two friends, recently completed a cross country trip in 30 days, 2,600 miles from Savannah, GA to San Diego, CA. You guys did the work on my bike prior to my leaving and the bike worked to perfection. Thank you so much. After returning home, we were interviewed by Channel 19 and I am including a link to the 2-minute interview. Enjoy.

Again, thank you so much for help making my trip a true success.

I recently purchased a Giant Defy 1 bicycle from you guys. I just wanted to thank Doug and Rich [in Peninsula] for taking the time out of their day to assist me in buying the bike. After a few rides, I couldn't be happier with the bicycle I ended up with, and the whole experience at Century Cycles was outstanding. I will be recommending your shop to anyone that asks where my bike was purchased. Thank you again for your time.

Hi guys. I have to give my thanks to Bob S at the Medina shop and everyone else in the company. I did my first Pedal to the Point. Bob took tons of time answering my questions and helping me believe I can do it. I did. All 175! For the MS Society I raised by myself over $1100. Looking forward to next year. Thanks everyone!

We just recently stopped into your Medina store with a problem with our bike carrier.

We wanted to let you know how helpful your employee Kyle was with our concern.

He took the time to remedy our bike rack situation. He was very patient and took the time to explain how to properly install and use the bike rack. This type of employee-to-customer service will be surely remembered and you will certainly be our one stop bike shop. We will also be making our "biking friends" aware of this great customer service.

Please let Kyle know that his services and concern did not go unnoticed. Thanks again Kyle!

Giving a big THANKS to Aaron M at the Rocky River shop for giving Robbie a thorough "pre-bike-the-breweries-of-Vermont" safety check and adjustments! He is riding like a kitten again, which is fab! Considering all of the abuse he endures :)

Also thanking all the guys in the shop for the convo while Robbie was was in the stand. And hey! Even picked Olga up a lovely new accessory! She will look GREAT on the "2 Wheels & Heels - a monthly Ladies Bike night! - Cleveland Ride" in a couple of weeks :)

My Name is John McLeod and I live in Brecksville. I have worked in downtown Cleveland for a little over 2 years now and have been bike commuting for 3 seasons. The first two, I had my share of mechanical problems. This year, using a new Surly Cross-Check, I have had a fraction of the problems.

Last year I came into your Peninsula store with my old Schwinn cross bike for some year-end service, only to be told that the frame was cracked. Derrick discussed my options with me. He built up a Cross-Check using some of the spare parts off the old bike and some new parts to get me the exact bike I wanted:

  • Surley Cross-Check frame
  • STI shifting
  • Salsa Delgado wheels, 36 spokes. The rear wheel was off the old bike; the front was purchased this past summer
  • Planet Bike full coverage fenders. These are a must.

This has been the best bike I have ever owned. While not the lightest, it's bomb-proof.

Thanks again, especially to Derrick and the Peninsula store.

John McLeod

I consider myself something of an expert on the art of bike maintenance. Here's how I handle all mechanical bike issues.

Periodically, I bring my bike into Medina Century Cycles for installs, maintenance tune-ups and problem solving.

I usually bring donuts via Buehler's bakery and buy lunch for Mike, Don, Tom, Chris, et al.

When I need work done, I have one of the two greatest mechanics in Western Civilization being either Don Barnett or Tom Wiseman take care of my bike. Using this technique I keep my bikes operating at peak efficiency and I always leave thinking I've received more value than I've paid for.

I have met many folks out on their bikes on the roads and bike trails of Medina and Wayne Counties and most know of Century Cycles and are agreed with me at how fortunate we are to have a local shop staffed by such knowledgeable and dedicated pros.

I do know how to keep my bike clean and well lubed and I use excellent components on my Raleigh, Cervelo and Giant bikes. But even on component selection, I have benefited greatly from the knowledge of Mike and the guys.

So there's my system for bike maintenance. I do the easy stuff and follow the motto of "Don't try this at home" for all the rest. This has resulted in thousands upon thousands of miles of successful road biking over the last 14 years on some of the greatest hills anywhere and I've yet to experience even one flat tire.

Many thanks to Century Cycles Medina for adding so much value to my life via the sublime recreation of road biking on a well tuned bike.

Just thought you'd like to know.

Sincerely,

Greg Olsen

I went in to the Medina store on Thursday Aug. 25, 2011 with my mind made up of which bike I was going to buy. The bike was on sale, 100 bucks off! How could I beat that. I had been thinking of that bike all summer. I had done my research online and knew all the benefits of that bike, I was sure that was the one for me. I was instucted to speak with Bob as I entered the store. I told Bob my riding style and my goals for the new bike. To my surprise he directed me to a completely different bike. This other bike did not have all the bells and whistles as the other plus it wasn't even on sale. He told me that if I wanted to reach my riding goals, this other bike was the right place to start. After a test ride and about a half hour of answering all of my questions I took Bob's advice and purchased the one he recommended. Up until then my longest ride was 32 miles on the Tow-path. I told Bob I wanted to do 50 miles by the end of this season and next year train for a century ride. The very next day, after buying the bike that Bob recommended, I did 50 miles on the Tow-path! My goal was realized simply by putting me on the right bike. Bob really knows his stuff. I can honestly say that I am completely satisfied with the service I received from the Medina Century Cycles. Thanks so much.

My husband and I attended the maintenance class last night at the Rocky River store. Just want to say thanks to Josh for an informative presentation. Hope to never get a flat but at least now we're not totally clueless and unprepared - like we were when we walked into the class!

Last Thursday (Sept. 16) I stopped by with my 5-year old to get training wheels for his bike at the Rocky River location.

Ray was there to help and explained about different sizes so we went home to get the bike. Upon returning with the bike Ray offered to put them on for us (awesome! -- he must know how I am with tools). He looked at the training wheels he had in stock and didn't think they would fit right. He offered to do something with some parts around the store if we could come back in an hour.

In the end, Ray put on a fine set of training wheels for a price of under $18. Ray did a great job taking care of us -- way beyond just selling us some training wheels.

He is a great example of why we are so lucky to have a Century Cycles in our community.

I just wanted to write a quick note to let you know how much I appreciated your staff on the weekend. I arrived at Peninsula at around 12:30 on Sunday and found that all the bikes had been rented out. The staff assured us that bikes would be returning within a half hour and they did a great job of organizing the people waiting for bikes. When some did become available it was a quick turn around and we were off and biking in no time. They really were fast and friendly and did a great job. I would recommend your shop to anyone without hesitation.

I want to let you know about the great service that I received at your Peninsula store yesterday. I was on a club ride, when I began hearing a loud creaking noise in my bike. I rode to the store and got there just before closing to see if anybody could check my bike out and let me know if  it was something quick and easy to fix (i.e. tighten something), or if I needed to come back later.

Derrick and Rich, who recognized me as a frequent customer, plus Ryan jumped right in to check things out. They checked out several things, even finding that the cleat on my shoe was loose, to nail down every possible cause of the loud noise. In addition, Ryan even happened to notice a small cut on my tire, and that the tube was just starting to protrude through, sparing me a likely flat on the road later.

They even stayed beyond closing time, but your guys fixed my problem on the spot, much quicker than I ever expected, and much quicker than anybody should have reasonably expected just when showing up just before closing time, allowing me to safely finish my ride back to my car and saving me a return trip back to the store.

I frequently read in Bicycling magazine about how important it is to find a local bike shop that you trust and enjoy working with. The staff at Century Cycles is certainly MY local bike shop, and I intend to share that with my friends.

Thanks and Best Regards,

Ken

I wanted to write you about my recent buying experience with your salesperson Aaron Maughan at your Rocky River facility. As a salesperson for nearly 20 years I appreciate an associate that not only knows his field of expertise but listens as well. A little background may help in understanding my personal biking needs. First of all, I have not been on a bike in nearly 20 years. So I was a little apprehensive about going to your store without any knowledge of the industry, products and price points. With that being said, as I was wandering around a very busy sales floor Saturday July 10th Aaron stopped over to help me.

I told Aaron that I knew nothing about bikes at all and needed some guidance. He started by asking me a number of qualifying questions about my goals and needs, and why I wanted a bike in the first place. I explained to him that I was an ex-professional athlete that has had 14 major surgeries and my running days were over according to my doctor. I needed the bike for rehab purposes and planned on riding as many times a week as I could in the summer. I also explained that I had a budget that I was looking to stay within that was a decent amount of money, but not exorbitant. Aaron asked me where I was going to be riding. I told him that I lived in Concord Township and the riding conditions were not just very hilly but also there were no sidewalks available, most streets were at least 40 mph and there were no street lights. I was not going to be taking this bike off-road or on trails but I was not look for excessive speed from a street bike. Complicating matter I am six foot five and needed additional considerations with the height of the bike. Aaron had a couple of bikes in mind but the more I spoke the more sure he was of his recommendation. He than grabbed a bike from the showroom floor and took me outside to send me on a test drive. As soon as I got on the Giant bike and peddled away I knew this was the perfect bike for me. Upon my return I began to think about where I was going to be riding this at home. I had concerns about high speed passing cars, riding at dusk and being able to carry things like my cell phone and ID with me as I rode into the country. I can tell you that Aaron actively listened to these concerns and satisfied my needs with the accessories that will allow me to rehab successfully and safely. I truly enjoyed my shopping experience at Century Cycles and will continue to be a customer as well as recommend your store to anyone in the market. Thanks again and thanks Aaron.

Dear Century Cycles,

My husband and I both purchased Giant bicycles from your Medina store in June. I wanted to express our gratitude for the outstanding service we received from your staff, particularly our salesman, Bob. He was extremely knowledgeable and dedicated a lot time in helping us choose the right bikes. He also offered his experience/knowledge with choosing accessories and even offered some great tips such as the proper way to lean your bike up against an object.

The entire Medina staff is like a family. They all were extremely friendly/knowledgeable and truly cared. Tom/Andrew in the service department prepped our bicycles and took great care in ensuring that everything was in working order before we left. Tom even gave us the rundown of how to operate our cyclocomputers.

Thanks again, Bob and the rest of the gang, for all your time. We love our new bikes!

Sincerely,

I wanted to take some time to send a kudos. Yesterday I picked up my Surly Long Haul Trucker from the Medina store. After months of research into touring bikes I settled on this brand and model. I found out Century Cycles was the only dealer for this brand around and so with that I wound up in Medina. From the first to the last I was treated with great and knowledgable customer service. I dealt primarily with Don Barnett and Drew Rady and between the three of us I walked out with one sweet ride. They are certainly well informed and steered me towards some fine accessories for my new bike. I have never used the shoes and clips before and they set up my bike on a training stand giving me pointers and lessons until I was comfortable with this new style of riding. In fact they wouldn't let me out of the store until I demonstrated I could un clip with a degree of proficiency. Then Don supervised my first official bike ride to make sure I was truly OK with it all. Would I recommend Century Cycles to friends and family? Absolutely! Would I ever buy another bike from Century Cycles? You can count on it! Thanks so much for everything and for the great experience that is unfortunately becoming uncommon today.

Hello,

I wanted to take a moment to let you know of the exceptional service provided by Rich Oettinger in your Peninsula store. While all the employees in Peninsula I have dealt with have been helpful, Rich has been instrumental in helping arrive at a final resolution on an issue.

I purchased my first trainer this past fall, and was excited to do so while taking advantage of one of the first Hot Deals of the season. Unfortunately, I have had several problems with it since I began using it. With no experience on a trainer previously, I really had no frame of reference in terms of what is or isn't normal while using it. So in addition to not being able to use the trainer like I wanted, it was also causing a lot of stress in thinking I was stuck with a bad unit. The unit was brought in and checked and repaired a few times times, but still just didn't seem quite right once I would begin using it again.

With my schedule, I am not able to make it into your Peninsula store during the week since it closes earlier than in the summer. In talking with Rich and describing the problem, I asked if he would be willing to swing by my house and test ride the trainer himself to get a first hand experience as to the issue I was describing.

He not only came to my home in the evening on his day off to ride on the trainer, but worked on the trainer right then and there. Furthermore, when it still wasn't right, he took it with him so he could contact the manufacturer regarding the issue so I didn't have to wait until the weekend to bring it in.

He contacted me promptly the following day to let me know the manufacturer is going to replace the unit with a new one to provide a final resolution to the issue. So, I should be back up and training again in no time, and not have to worry about experiencing the same issue as before. More riding, less stress, and a happy customer.

So, just wanted to say thank you to Rich for truly going above and beyond, and let you know that I believe him to be a great asset to your Peninsula location!

Just wanted to say thank you for a great class [at Strongsville High School]. I was lucky enough to be able to attend on Saturday, and was so impressed. Don [from the Medina store] is a wealth of information. He has a low-key style that makes it easy for the participants to ask questions. One of his evaluation forms, from a man that has been biking for years, says "great class, would recommend to anyone who wants to know more about bikes," and in answer to what part of the presentation was of greatest interest...another participant said "all of it...it was super." Thanks again!

Thanks Century Cycles & Especially Adam!

All the respected cycling magazines recommend finding a shop before a bike and I'm glad I found Century Cycles in Medina. I thought I could get away with spending less and purchased a bike from Dick's Sporting Goods. I knew you get what you pay for but I thought a "big box" retailer selling good brands might afford me a bargain. I was wrong! You definitely only get what you pay for and having an expert and enthusiast (not a person "punching the clock") walk you through all the options and differences between bikes is really helpful. Additionally, knowing what degree of components you need to have an enjoyable riding experience is essential and only experts can really help you with the differences (i.e not Dick's or Wal-Mart for that matter). That is where Adam came in. He approached me instead of me having to hunt down an associate and took all the time I needed to help me in my decision (which was approximately 2 hours). I test rode a bunch of bikes and asked a million questions but Adam was never frustrated. I ended up with a great bike, at a fair price, that does everything I need it to and feels great to ride. I've returned my other bike to Dick's Sporting Goods after 2 weeks, a set of bad shifters, two bad tune-ups, the chain falling off twice, and a flat tire and now have a bike my 6'1" 210lb frame can rock out everyday with no problems. So thanks again Century Cycles and I look forward to bringing in my bike in the years to come for all its regular maintenance needs.

Best,

Jesson Prohaska

Dear Mr. Cowan,

I am writing this letter regarding several of your employees that I met while visiting your store. On Friday, July 24th, I stopped in to have my old road bike checked out and met Ray. Ray took care of my bike immediately and told me it would only take a few hours. I told Ray that I was interested in buying a bike for my wife. After a little discussion, Ray showed me several bikes and gave me a lot of info to consider. I told him I would stop back with my wife to see if the bike would fit her. During our conversation, Ray could not have been more pleasant or helpful. It was like speaking with a good friend.

On Sunday, July 26th, my wife and I stopped back about noon and your store was very busy. We then met Matt and I told him of my visit with Ray. Matt then showed us different bikes, fit my wife for those and had her test ride the bikes. Matt spent a good amount of time with us and patiently explained the bikes and their differences several times. Matt could not have done more to make a confusing process more pleasant. My wife eventually decided on a Raleigh Detour 6.5 and was extremely happy with a very comfortable bike. Matt's work did not end with the bike as he then helped us with a helmet, riding pants, and bike computer, patiently explaining everything and answering all of our questions. Like Ray, Matt made us feel like we mattered and that he truly wanted us to be happy with what we bought. Before I left, Matt signed me up for your bike repair classes in the Fall.

That Sunday evening, we took the new bike out for a spin, nearly 10 miles after not riding for several years. My wife is still smiling about the new bike and how comfortable it is...a very happy camper!

I returned to your store on Monday for a few more items and a problem with an old computer on my bike. I met Adam who promptly took care of my problem and also gave me help with several questions that came up. Ray showed up and again spent time helping me with questions regarding shoes, helmets, and bike maintenance. Your employees could not have been more helpful or pleasant.

Mr. Cown, Ray, Adam, and Matt are a credit to your organization. They were professional, knowledgeable, and willing to help with whatever questions arose. We definitely did not feel like just another sale. It is because of these guys that I and my wife will return to your store (actually I've already been back several times!) for our biking needs. If there is any way they can get recognition or rewards, please do so. They are definitely above average and a credit to Century Cycles.

Thanks again to Ray, Matt, Adam and Century Cycles!

Sincerely,

Darryl and Ann Kiraly

BACK ON THE ROAD AGAIN

To the Staff,

Personally felt that both my wife and I needed to give great thanks to all for your immeasurable support and kindness that you have all provided since we bought our first bike. Each visit we have been treated with the greatest respect, especially when I first started biking, you all disregarded my overweight condition.

Several other cycle shops were quite the reverse; this is what drove me to purchase my second bike from Century Cycles. We have constantly been treated with the greatest of service, and respect, regardless of our level of experience or capabilities, thank you very much!

Additionally, since the beginning of the 2009 season, personally have lost over 50 pounds, and currently bike a minimum of 100 miles a week. This has been such a rewarding experience, and I owe all of this to Century Cycles staff. Look forward to finishing this year with greater achievements, and look forward to many miles ahead with your constant friendship!

On a final note, Scott's Giant Defy Advanced bike is unbelievable. In the first week, I logged over 95 miles (too much rain); to date I have logged 207 miles; truly cannot say enough about this bike. Thank you again Scott!

Sincerely,

George E. Stecz Jr.

Wow! Great place at a great location. We had a chance to visit your [Peninsula] store on July 15 and July 21, 2009, while riding the trail and just passing through the area on vacation. The staff was great and helped us with a number of purchases, including souvenir water bottles and new seats for our bikes, and even an item they didn't have in stock.

You guys are great. Another wonderful week on GOBA with my kids. Century Cycles has been a big plus every year. Derrick has kept our bikes going and us entertained with stories of what he's had to work on, and what a hot week it was.

Thank You so much.

P.S. Your shop in Peninsula has a very helpful and knowledgeable crew.

Thanks to the crew @ CC in Peninsula, OH for making my first new bike purchase (since 1975) a great & professional experience.

My 2009 Giant Cypress DX rides smooth, and was adjusted perfectly for me when I left the store on Tuesday afternoon. It didn't take long to get used to the trigger shifters, and I should be used to having 24 gearing options within the next week.

My wife bought a Giant Cypress from the Rocky River location in 2005. We looked at other styles & stores, but the professional service we continue to enjoy at all CC locations and the fact we have had no problems with her bike made this new purchase from CC easy.

Keep up the great work!

-Bill

I have been taking my bikes to CC in Peninsula and that staff rocks! They are doing a great job, especially when they saved me with a new shoe buckle two days before the Mohican 100K. Plus, they've done a great job with my several mountain bike problems this summer.

One week ago, my cheap old commuter bike broke down on me for good (I am sick of putting money into it). So, I set forth to find my new ride around town. I have stopped into most of the stores in the westside area to try to find my new bike. You are by FAR the BEST STORE of them all. I was so impressed, I have made up my mind to do business with you from now on. You really care about what you do there, and it shows. Twice I have been there to check out different bikes. Twice I have had different members of your staff help me. They both were great people who knew exactly what they were doing. I will come to you for all my bike's needs from now on. So glad I stopped in there. It is good to see some businesses still like to take care of customers. Thank you so much. I will be in to buy my new bike this week (Giant FCR 3).

Thank you!

Bryan R. Jalovec

We try to buy ALL our cycling stuff from you guys (at the Peninsula store) because we really enjoy the atmosphere, which has always been laid-back but very knowledgeable. And you're right: this is how you earn a life-long customer. We know we can count on expert advice without high-pressure slick tactics. Just wanted to let someone know how much we appreciate the awesomeness of your culture and service!!!

Hi Scott!

It's Kaleb, the Ironman France guy who about a month ago was in your shop every day for a week trying to build a bike. Well, I finished the bike, and I wanted to say THANK YOU to all of the guys at the shop who helped put it together, and helped teach me some things so that I could try and put it together myself. I made the bike as a one year anniversary gift for my girlfriend, Caitlin, and she loves the bike! I couldn't have finished the bike without the help I received from the guys at the shop, and as always, they were all beyond nice.

Thanks again,

Kaleb K.

Dear Century Cycles,

I hadn't owned a bike since the 80's, when 10-speeds were the norm (hold your laughter please), and had committed myself to getting a new bike this year. I visited several bicycle shops within a few days and all of them were lacking - lacking in variety, quality in product, and/or quality in service (they saw a woman coming and assumed I wasn't serious about making a purchase?). So when I walked into Century Cycles in Rocky River, I wasn't quite sure what to expect. I talked with Scott and Krista and was immediately put at ease. They were friendly, professional, and above all patient with my lack of knowledge with what I was dealing with. Krista answered all of my questions and fit me with the perfect bike.

I ordered my new bike that day and have to say I have been a riding fool ever since! I love my new bike! I ride it all the time - to run errands, with my daughter for fun, to the movies, you name it. I never thought I'd love it this much! I have and will continue to recommend Century Cycles to anyone looking for quality products and service.

Thank you!!! We'll be back soon (my daughter needs to upgrade to a Century Cycle).

Congratulations on winning the bike shop of the year by the League of American Bicyclists! I was one of a group of 30 women who cycled on the Underground Railroad Route last May and made a stop at the Peninsula store. I hope you will pass this along to them. They were awesome. The shop was incredibly well equipped and had lots of neat stuff for us to buy (that is the idea, right?!!) They gave us a bunch of "Define your Life" t-shirts and I still have two that I bought later after the ride. It always gets comments when I wear my pink one!

The guys who worked there treated us women very, very well (as opposed to some other shops where we were seen as a bunch of idiots, and several were ripped off). You all even oohed and aahed over the gorgeous bikes that some of the women had!

Best wishes for a great future on the UGRR and a great future serving new and old cyclists.

I wanted to say thanks for the great help, and the great prices on everything. My new 08 [Raleigh] Grand Prix is the best bike i have owned. Also thanks for help with the Easton seatpost.

I became interested in cycling 3 years ago. Now I am addicted to it. Over those 3 years I have visited just about every bike shop in Medina and Cuyahoga county, have surfed the cycling web sites for countless hours and read cycling magazines every chance I get. Century Cycles in Medina is, without a doubt, THE BEST BIKE SHOP in Northeast Ohio. Adam, Tom, Keith, Drew, Petch and the boys are equipped with superior knowledge, totally committed to excellent customer service, and are always willing to go far beyond the normal "call of duty" when it comes to solving every challenge I have encountered with either my bike or any cycling products.

Besides all the above, it's just fun to stop and visit for awhile. It's good to have such a bike shop so close to home.

Thanks guys.

To Adam [in Medina], I just want to say thank you for helping me out on Saturday. You helped guide me to a great purchase!!! I rode the [Giant] OCR1 on Sunday...and Monday...and hopefully again tonight! The fit is EXCELLENT and I actually rode for a couple hours and was COMFORTABLE!!!! The bike is amazing - fast and lite...kinda scary downhill - HA! Anyway, thanks again for your help and professionalism!

It's that family feeling at the stores that makes Century Cycles the place I look forward to taking my bike to. I use the Peninsula shop and I like the fact that when I go in there, everyone knows me and is aware of the bikes I own, and they help me right away with anything I have a question about. Not to mention the fantastic job they do when I take my bike in for a tune-up. The mechanics go above and beyond in the process of a simple tune-up, which is so much more attention than any place I've taken my bike to previously have ever done. When I took my Giant (which I had bought in 2006 from CC) in for a tune-up this past summer, it came back to me running so silent! I didn’t even realize it had been making much noise until I got it back. Anyway, it might be off topic a little, but I just think everyone (Scott included) should know that I absolutely glow when I talk about CC to people. I always recommend your stores for people seeking new bikes or equipment or just repairs on their existing bikes. Thanks for working so hard to put that family touch in the business. I think it really pays off... I've had some bad experiences at other shops and CC has been consistently top-notch in its customer service and output.

Dear Scott,

Please let me start by thanking you and congratulating you on having another pleased and loyal customer. I've been going to Century Cycles all of my cycling "career." Well...not so much a career as an enthusiastic pursuit for the past 10+ years. Derrick K. and Tom W. have been great helps for all these years.

[...]

We are a sponsor of the Summit Freewheelers Cycling Club as I've been a member for years and I'm a happy Surly fixed gear convert thanks to the Peninsula store. If I'm lucky, I may be able to talk my business partner into allowing me to be a part-time payroll bike messenger to your stores!? (ok, probably not)

Just a quick note to say THANKS!

Customer Service at your Rocky River store was Outstanding as usual last night. I dropped in to see if I could convince my wife to get a new road bike for her. I brought in my Felt road bike to have someone check the bottom bracket noise. I figured I would need to leave it for a few days (the norm with other shops). Your man Adam got it done while we shopped! That was SO great!

Meanwhile, Krista was helping us look at a Giant OCR 3 W. It looked like the ideal bike for my wife, and I have been trying to talk her into a road bike for a while – she cannot keep up with me and some others on her old hybrid; she has been reluctant. Krista was so helpful and supportive! It really helped my wife to hear someone else tell her the same things I have been saying – and it was coming from an experienced FEMALE cyclist! That worked out great.

She loves the new bike.

Thanks again. Please pass along my thanks to your folks! Glad we could do business with you!

Once again I find myself e-mailing Century Cycles with accolades.

I recently purchased a new Surly Cross Check from your Peninsula store.  The entire staff was extremely helpful and the bike has been better than I anticipated.  Doug and Brent put together a bike I will enjoy for years to come.  I know the rest of the staff chimed in on components and that is why I buy from Century Cycles.

Also, the service on my wife's old mountain bike has been far above par and I appreciate the effort to make her bike safe and comfortable for her.

Please keep up the good work and I will not hesitate to purchase from your shop in the future.

Hello,

I just wanted to take a few moments to thank you for organizing the Night Rides [on the Towpath Trail]. This is our third ride this year and we have thoroughly enjoyed them.

My wife and I are just over 30 and have 3 boys aged 8, 5, and 2. We put our 2 year old in our Burley trailer, and the two older boys ride their own bikes. We have not completed the entire route on any ride until last Friday. Our 5 year old was able to make it the entire 13 miles! Mind you this is on his own bike, under his own power! His previous longest ride was around 9 miles, which I thought was good for a 5 year old, pre kindergartener.

Again, thanks for organizing these rides, they are great, inexpensive, activities for families to enjoy.

Dear Century Cycles Medina,

We can't thank you enough for all your help fitting our daughter for the perfect bike. When our little Addie told us she wanted a "regular" bike for her 8th birthday we were concerned and didn't know how to find her the right bike. Addie has Osteogenesis Imperfecta and severe scoliosis. Her bones break all the time (she has had over 30 fractures) and often with very little force such as coughing, sneezing, grabbing, etc. Addie also does not walk and uses a power wheelchair full time. So, we knew it would be a challenge to find the perfect bike that was safe and would allow her to ride like the other kids on the block.

After searching the internet for a few weeks with little luck, we decided to stop in Century Cycles Medina to see if they had any suggestions. Adam and Petch helped us find the perfect baby blue Electra bike! Adam helped us select several accessories that would make it easier for Addie to hold and pedal the bike as well. We ordered the bike, ordered special "training" wheels that you recommended and Don added a few other things to make it a perfect fit! Even though you were very busy every time we stopped in, you always made us fell like we were your only customer.

My husband and I watched in amazement as our little girl pedaled that bike around the driveway as fast as she could go. She got her birthday wish--a gorgeous bike that's cool--just like all the other kids in the neighborhood! We couldn't have made her birthday wish come true without your patience, kindness and knowledge! Thank you so much!

Sincerely,

Andrea Wisniewski

Dear Mr. Cowan,

I want to tell you how pleased I was with my recent bicycle build at your Peninsula location. I decided towards the end of May that I wanted to gift myself with a new single speed Surly Karate Monkey. I had purchased a Univega Modo Volare from this same location back in 2001, and I was very happy with both the sale and the aftermarket service provide by Derrick.

On this occasion, I worked with Brent Forrer. I gave him the basics of what I was looking for and I asked him to list his recommendations. We exchanged e-mails on many occasions, and he patiently responded to my questions. I did quite a bit of research on various web sites as I finalized what I wanted on the bicycle.

I finally took delivery of the bicycle on June 17 and I couldn't be happier. His recommendations were spot on, and I am now the proud owner of a bicycle that I hope to have for many years.

With this purchase, I have spent more than $3000 with your company, bypassing the several bicycle shops here in my county. You have an excellent staff there in Peninsula, and you should be proud of the way they take care of their customers.

I will certainly recommend your company to my cycling friends.

Sincerely,

Harry M. Campbell

When I first thought of making a thank you card for the folks at Century Cycles, I cut out 3 pictures of scantily-clad women.

The title was the same:

THANK YOU!

Excellent service
(picture of women in bikinis)

Sales
(picture of women in lingerie)

Friendly knowledgeable advice
(Maxim magazine's ten best models)

I thought it would make you guys laugh.

What do you get when you come to Century Cycles?
Excellent service, Sales, and Friendly knowledgeable advice, along with lots of half-naked women. LOL

So I started from scratch and changed from poster board to foam core. You can't hang scantily-clad women on the wall of the mechanic shop; strictly a PG-rated bike shop.

So I came up with something you can hang.

Thanks for always being so nice, and helpful, with good reasonable prices, too.

Sincerely,

Joe

Adam at your Medina store (although being new to the store) was a total pro. Listened to my needs and found the right bike for me. I even made a second trip to the store just to tell him thank you. I am going back to the store tomorrow to purchase a bike for my wife. Thanks to Adam and all the guys at the Medina store. It really shows the benefit of going to a professional store with knowledgable staff and the piece of mind that my money is going to a locally owned and operated company. Thanks!

Update: I had such a good experience that I did indeed go back in today and purchased another bike for my wife. Adam was off today, but Sam did an excellent job and knows his bicycles for sure.

Dear Gentlemen,

I just wanted to compliment the staff at Century Cycles for the excellent service I received in connection with purchasing a bicycle two days before Christmas, in a snow storm. Matt waited on me and was helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. Everyone in the [Rocky River] store took an interest in my needs and decision. What a pleasure to partake in a wholly pleasing shopping experience. You guys are exemplary!
Thanks again,
Bill Taylor

Hey guys!

Thanks so much for the Bianchi, I've finally founhd a perfect bike for me, it's so stiff and positive, and the Kinetic trainner is the most quiet machine I've ever used in my 20 years of riding, MUCH quieter than CycleOps, I live in an apartment so it's important that its' quiet.

Many thanks

Damian Moss

I want to express my satisfaction with my experience doing business at the Medina Century Cycles. I originally dealt with Century Cycles on my brother Kurt's recommendation and have had considerable repair work done there. The staff is friendly and competent and all work was done in a timely professional manner. Don was especially cooperative in dealing with me over the phone (I live out of town). I look forward to future visits to your store.

Thank You,

Dick Haneberg

The guys at the Medina store are always great to work with. I live locally and they are within riding distance between my house and the Reagan Park mountain bike trails, so I'm there quite often. Whenever I have an issue with my bike, they are always extremely honest with me about parts recommendations, as well as riding techniques. They are not just bike "technicians," but they are riders and enthusiasts, so they have experience to speak from. Plus, they're great to talk bike with. I recently visited the store due to some shifting problems, and it turned out that my chain needed replaced. I went for a ride immediately afterward, and about halfway through the trail, the new chain broke. I took it back to the store and without any questions asked, Tom replaced my chain again and adjusted my rear derailuer. But this was just one instance where they've helped immensely. Every time I visit the store, they always helped me out while I wait whenever possible, and have had a very quick turnaround any other time I've needed to leave my bike with them. Huge thanks to Tom, Don, Keith, and Mike for all the great service. I bought my bike from "Another bike shop," but will continue to visit the Century Medina store for many years to come for their awesome service and hard work.

Sincerely,

Eddie Wallace

Hey Scott,

Just wanted to say thanks for the great job Mike and the guys at the Medina store just did for me. I had an old Raleigh road bike that I took in for a tune up. They found that the frame was cracked and took some extra steps to get Raleigh to replace the frame at no cost. Because of the new frame, it then need a new fork, and some other work. Mike kept all the additional costs to a minimum. I appreciate the good service. Hope all is well...

Greg Cravatas

I just wanted to thank you for providing some of the gift giveaways at the Ice Cream Ride this year. I thought that was a very nice gesture on your part and a fun event with many people winning something. I myself actually won and chose a very nice pair of Tifosi sunglasses (which I wore today on my ride). Thanks for being a sponsor for the Ice Cream ride and all you do. We're glad you are part of our community.

Tom Luppino

Don, you have been very helpful in helping me pick out my bike. You spent a lot of time with me bringing out bike after bike for me to try out. I am thankful for the time you spent making sure I was happy with my purchase. Thanks.

Mike Petcher, You truly went out of your way for me. I reported a problem with a bike rack I purchased from your store. Your efforts made for a very positive outcome. I truly appreciate the time, effort and professional attention you paid to the details of my problem. The outcome, the company is fixing the problem. Thank you for all your efforts on my behalf. Thanks.

Colleen Schemrich

If you were only closer to my home, that is the only thing, though I willingly drive from Ashland to deal with the "experts." I bought my bike last year from your knowlegable staff, and have had service and minor repair only at your Medina location. Every experience has been good - those guys tell it like it is and offer realistic options and alternatives. That kind of service and retail can only be found with people who know their stuff. Thanks, Century Cycles!

Ron Akridge

Just want to say thanks to Century Cycles / Derrick for providing service on the GOBA ride.  You did a great job and I appreciate all your help.

Peggy Cundiff

This is my second letter of thanks to Century Cycles. Previously I noted what a great help Brent was with my recurring tire problems during TOSRV.

Next I purchased a shirt at Portsmouth from you guys which turned out to be too big. I sent it in an envelope with a tracing of the shirts I have that fit and asked them to exchange it for the appropriate size in that particular brand. Mind you, I had no sales receipt, didn't copy my own letter and could have sent my shirt off to an unscrupulous person who could have been wearing it right now! Needless to say, the best size was determined, a shirt of such size was located and packed off in the mail to me.

Thanks to Mike in particular and your excellent group. (I am not sure how Mike would have looked in that women's tank top anyway...)

Susan Ferrand

Dear Medina Century Cycles Staff,

Mike, Don, Eric, Keith, Tom, et. al.,

Thank you for the great service and friendly advice that you have given me over the last 9 years.

Don, thanks for fitting me to the correct size comfort bike. Before you helped me, I was riding a ridiculously oversized bike that was painful from the first pedal stroke. Without your help and the Raleigh Comfort road bike that you helped me select, I'm sure that I would have forsaken the sport of biking and that would have been tragic for me on a personal basis. I have re-discovered the sublime nature of biking that I knew as a boy. And the health benefits, including weight loss and cardio-conditioning, help me to belie my age of 62. Yes, Don, I was 12 when you were yet a gleam in your father's eye.

Keith, you're the first person I met at Medina's Century Cycle Shop and it's because of you and your infectious friendliness that I came back again and again.

Eric, you've given me sound advice in selecting products and helped me out of an aching back by telling me that I probably had my seat too low.

Tom, you just recently worked on my bike and showed that you are right up to the standards of excellence set by the rest of the staff in Medina. You found a problem without my even mentioning it. My front brake just would not remain centered in place and though I adjusted it at the beginning of every bike ride, by the end of the ride the brake would have moved to the right and the tire would be rubbing against the left pad. Evidently, the problem was in the looseness of the handlebars which you found on your own. On my bike outing yesterday of 26 miles on truly egregious hills, the brake remained true and the rubbing was gone. Thank you immensely.

Mike, you're a joy to speak with but you don't put on any pressure and it redounds to your credit. You run a great shop and you have excellent associates starting with Don as service manager and extending to each person that I've mentioned heretofore in this email.

Out on the roads and bike trails, I have told many other riders of just what a pleasure it is to do business with Century Cycles in Medina and have referred them to you.

Once again thank you all. It has been a pleasure doing business with each and every one of you and I look forward to many more years of doing so.

Appreciatively,

Greg Olsen

Just wanted to thank Brent (I hope I got the spelling right--there was a lot going on that day!) again for his magnificent help at TOSRV this weekend--I managed to have four, yes four flat tires in the first 50 miles before he came to the rescue and got me back on the road again. We were very happy to see him again on Sunday when a friend blew a tube causing quite a crash. But with his help and very conscientious look at the tire which needed replacement, we sailed the last 50 in flat-free abandon. He is a great guy and you are lucky to have him on board. Many thanks.

Susan Ferrand

On Saturday, I purchased a new Raleigh Venture comfort bike. I took it for spin for the first time today. Voila! What a ride; it rides like a $2,500 bike. I'm very happy with it; i think it was an ideal choice for me. For the first time in a long time, I felt like a kid again.

During the WKSU Fundraising week, I wandered near the radio in our bedroom and heard "Bicycle drawing" and I said, "I think I'll renew my membership" so I called the number I had memorized from hearing it a zillion times and at three minutes to the hour, I pledged!

Imagine my utter shock, surprise and delight when I received a phone call about 30 minutes later, saying "Congratulations! You won the bicycle." I was psyched!

To make a long story short, I picked up my beautiful Raleigh Passage 4.0 bike in teal along with matching helmet and all the other goodies yesterday at the Peninsula store. The guys who work there are just great -- they even gave me a red t-shirt and lubricant for my new bike's chain. We did a practice run on the trainer and hopefully, I'll remember what to press when.

I want to thank you for your wonderful donation to WKSU and the opportunity afforded me for a shiny new bicycle. With a little bit of luck, I won't need training wheels!

THANK YOU SO MUCH AGAIN!!!!!!

Best regards,

Janice Katz

P.S. Do the guys there drink beer or wine? I want to bring them something when I get back from vacation on May 10th.

Note from the webmaster: Yes to both...

I would like to thank Josh and the staff at Century Cycles in Rocky River. Josh was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and patient with all my questions and helped me select the perfect bicycle for my riding needs. The staff also worked together and quickly customized my purchase in order to give me exactly what I wanted. I will continue to bring my bicycle to your store for service and would not hesitate to recommend you to anyone interested in quality and a positive shopping experience.

A company's salesmen speak volumes about their employer and their enjoyment of their profession. Finding a salesman who takes the time to help a customer pick a product that is best for them (not just concentrating on making the "big dollar sale") is a true gem. I met this sales yesterday at the Medina store.

After speaking to Doug earlier in the day about the clearance OCR models, I decided to make the trip to the Medina store to see what was available. I was initially near the North Olmstead area and was going to go to [another bike shop], but decided to go to Century instead, and this decision had largely to do with the caliber of the people Century employs. (I went to [another bike shop] once, and that was enough to make me never want to go back!)

Upon entering the store Doug was the first person to greet me, and after I merely mentioned "OCR" he remembered talking to me earlier in the day. He then spent almost 2 hours helping me determine if the OCR was indeed the bike for me. (Who does this?!?!?) Needless to say, I DID purchase the bike (after lusting after it for 4 years!!), and this was largely due to the service Doug provided.

I'm sure I don't need to tell you how personable he is, or how knowledgeable he is about cyclign -- that's undoubtedly why you hired him! But I will say, even though he was working outside him home store, he represented BOTH stores in a very professional manner. The customer service provided by Century Cycles is bar none -- and Doug is one among many employees that demonstrates this daily. And as a company, you should be very proud of them all! Century Cycles ROCKS!!!!

Sincerely,

Robyn Lukas

I wanted to commend the entire staff at the Medina store for their customer oriented manners. They have always been helpful and courteous to me and everyone I have seen walk through the door, which is a big deal in this industry. You have a lifelong customer in me and I will always recommend Century Cycles to all of my friends.

Denis Boudreau

I brought my bike in for service on Sunday September 17 to your Peninsula store and was helped by Derrick. The service was some of the best I have ever had and he was able to get me back on the path very quickly. He was very helpful and seemed eager to share information about keeping my bike running well. He even helped with my wife's bike as well and fixed a problem that we have not had anyone else properly take care of before. He made me feel at ease and welcome in your store. It was nice to see that there are still good people out there willing to help others and offer advice to those who want to learn. I just wanted to personally thank him for his help, advice and showing me there are still friendly people who care.

I bought a 2002 Campione Bianchi from the Pennisula store. Brent and Derek treated me great; they customized my bike just the way I wanted. I had a great experience. Thanks again.

Dear Mike [Petch in Medina],

Sorry it's taken so long, but I just wanted to send you a little note of thanks for your kindness and helpfulness with the tandem we received from the Rush-Miller Foundation.

Jessica and I pick up the bike on Sunday, February 20. We were sorry that we had to come on your day off, but it wasn't snow for once! The man that helped us was very nice, though. (Sorry I forgot his name [Don].)

Thank you for teaching us the proper way to ride a tandem. And also, thanks for getting us the bike with the comfortable seat and the two helmets; I'm glad you worked your "deal!!"

We hope to see you in three to four months for our first tune-up. Thanks for being so nice!

Sincerely,

Yvonne & Jessica Ehlert

I just wanted to pass along my gratitude and pleasure with the service I continue to receive at the Peninsula store.

Although I generally work on my own bikes and perform overhauls for others, occasionally I get a situation where I require expertise, and Derrick, Gary, Brent, and Doug all offer that in quantity and quality!

You guys are great!  Road or mountain bike, you know your stuff, you are always willing to be helpful, courteous, and conversational, and you go the extra mile to make sure your customer is satisfied.  Whenever I need specialized assistance, or that hard to get part or tool, I will always be coming back to!  You have erased the other local bike shops from consideration in my book!

Keep up the outstanding service!

Dear Scott,

I just completed the basic tune up/regular maintenance class at your Rocky River store.

I am writing to let you know that I enjoyed the class very much and learned quite a lot. This was all possible because of the great instructions I received from Aaron Maughan and Adam Falkner. Aaron put together a great class, and Adam assisted and showed me some real great tips. Aaron and Adam are a great asset to Century Cycles and you.

I thank you for having this class at Century Cycles.

Sincerely,

Richard Kohler

Dear Century Cycles,

I wanted to thank you for your volunteer work at this past week-ends ride [MS 150].  I was one of the participants and thought I would highlight one of your folks in particular.  Gary, from your Solon store, represented your firms interest very well and did a great job with helping one of my team-mates with a mechanical on her Litespeed.  She said she will seek Gary out for his great work when she brings her bike to your Solon store.  When we saw him as we rolled up to one of the rest stops I recommended she have him take a quick look at her bike given my past experience with him when I have brought in my Chance, Pinarello, etc...

As always, Gary fixed the problem and we were rolling again!

Anyway, please pass along our many thanks to Gary and all your staff who helped out!

Hey EVERYONE! Thanks a bunch for tuning up my Cannondale R600. IT RUNS LIKE NEW. I am a clydesdale class triathlete and marathon runner. SO, being a bigger guy my bike takes a bigger beating. ADAM was the mechanic that worked on it and many thanks for the GREAT customer service and putting up with my 3 year old and 18 month old daughters running around looking at all the bikes. My next bike purchase will be from Century and you will always have a customer for life. THE STAFF is always friendly ready to answer questions and ready to help.

Thanks,

Danny Mihelich

Hello, my name is Greg Trask and while riding at Quail Hollow State Park I bent my front rim very badly. As I was walking out I met a guy (and his wife) who told me that he was the head mechanic at your Peninsula store. He was able to straighten my rim (enough for me to ride out), by slamming it against the ground, something I wish I would have thought of myself.

He and his wife were very nice and made sure that I was okay before they continued on their way. I just wanted to let you know what a great employee you have out there (as if you didn't already), and how much I look forward to doing business with your Peninsula store in the future.

Gratefully yours,
Greg Trask

Hi Lois,

It is Kelly Halterman, the Bike Town winner from North Ridgeville.  I just wanted to send you a note to say thanks for sending the Giant bicycle to Rocky River for me.  I picked it up today.  It was so quick and easy to reach your RR store.

I also wanted to tell you how professional Aaron is.  He looked through all the paperwork to see what the Bike Town event was about to see what came with the bike and to make sure it was all there.  I think he even called to speak with you about the Catseye lights vs. the mileage meter.

I just wanted you to know how much I appreciate all the time Aaron spent with me, showing me all the features, adjusting the helmet and bicycle and answering all my questions.  He knew it had been a number of years since I have been on a bike and wanted to make sure I was comfortable before I left.  I certainly did not expect all of this especially since it was a free bike.

I will certainly remember all of you when I am in the market for another bicycle for a member of my family.

Have a great day!

Kelly Halterman

"We received a letter from Century Cycles again telling us we were one of the top customers of last year. This entitles us to  a discount on purchases until the end of March....So we purchased a stokid adapter kit for Morgan to ride the tandem. They did a great job (As usual).. I am so impressed with how they take the time to make sure not only that everything works correctly but that we are happy."

I just picked my bike up from Century Cycles in Rocky River for the 30 day tune-up.

These guys are great!!!!  I had my bike back sooner than expected, PLUS they rewired my bike computer so it won't get tangled up PLUS they had my manual ready for pick up (forgot to pick it up when I bought the bike).  WOW!

I've also had great experiences with the guys at the store in Peninsula.  They helped me decide which bike to buy, even though I ended up buying it in RR.

You've got a customer for life!  (But when are you opening a store up on the EAST side?)

Just a quick note to tell you how impressed I am with your website.  It is one of the most useful and easily navigable sites I have seen on the web.  Bike-specific pricing and information is quickly available and relevant, making comparisons a painless, if not enjoyable, task.  Plus, you've got a hell of a selection.

Apart from the website, your in-store selection and assistance is outstanding.  I was in the store the other day, and Jacob answered all my questions without "trying to sell me."  I didn't buy anything that day, but . . .

I'm going to be buying a bike from you guys.  (Actually, I'll be buying my second bike from you).  See you in Solon.
